Maucher grew up in New York's Hudson Valley and received her bachelor’s degree in biology from Binghamton University. She spent several years working in veterinary hospitals before attending Iowa State University, College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 2011 with her doctorate degree. She currently practices at Heart + Paw’s Family Partner, South Peak Veterinary Hospital, in Saugerties, New York.
